WWE: Awesome Thoughts on the Raw GM Angle, Wrestlemania, and More!

Kevin Germany@@KevinUber1Analyst IIIFebruary 2, 2012

Welcome to my fourth edition of Awesome Thoughts! I hope everyone enjoyed the first, second and third edition.

Topics will range from WrestleMania 28 to the Raw GM angle. Dolph Ziggler's predicament will also be discussed.

WrestleMania 28: Can this be one of the greatest cards ever?

Everyone should be happy about this year's WrestleMania. Here's a quick rundown of the likely card.

Rock vs. John Cena: Neither man needs this victory. Just enjoy this match.

WWE Championship—Chris Jericho vs. CM Punk: Match of the year candidate. Only question is who will be champion going in.

Undertaker vs. Triple H: I expect Undertaker to convince The Game to be his final opponent with a little help from Shawn Michaels.

Big Show vs. Shaq: Shaq and Big Show do have good chemistry.

World Heavyweight Championship—TBD vs. Sheamus: Expect Sheamus to win the title to break the lengthy drought of Royal Rumble winners regardless of who is the champion.

Money in the Bank

Divas Championship

Beth Phoenix vs. Kharma: Kharma will win the title to rejuvenate the Divas division.

I would pay $65 for Rock-Cena alone. Throw in Punk-Jericho and Taker's last match then you got a great pay-per-view.

Who Should Be Raw General Manager?

I will now shift gears to something that has plagued my mind for the past couple of years. Who should be the Raw GM?

John Laurinaitis should thank Undertaker for saving his job. Undertaker's very rude interruption of Triple H's incredible promo on John "I Might Be The Sole Reason Why Ratings Are Down" Laurinaitis definitely surprised me and millions of fans watching Raw.

Triple H will probably fire John Laurinaitis at some point. If Clown Shoes is replaced, here are five potential candidates to be GM.

1. Stone Cold Steve Austin

Why: It would be a major coup for WWE to get Austin to be the full-time Raw GM. He definitely brings in the excitement needed for Raw.

Ironically, the ultimate rebel in his heyday now can become the authority figure. Expect a feud with CM Punk. A match between the two at WrestleMania 29 can very well happen. The Texas Rattlesnake should be the No. 1 choice to be the permanent Raw GM.

Why not: WWE will have to pay Austin a hefty paycheck to secure his services as Raw GM. Contrary to popular belief, Vince McMahon does not have an unlimited supply of funds. Also there is this whole PG thing to contend with.

2. Triple H

Why: Triple H would be the most logical choice to be COO and Raw GM. He did a good job of being the authority figure on Raw. He can play face or heel to perfection.

Why not: Triple H does not want to travel every week. His sledgehammer won't pass through airport security.

Note: Triple H and Steve Austin could reform the two-man power trip to run Raw together.

3. Mick Foley

Why: Foley has the charisma and the mic skills needed to pull this off. He is also respected and adored by fans for his incredible bumps.

Why not: Do I need to say anything more?

4. The Rock

Why: He is the most electrifying man in all of entertainment!

Why not: He is just too busy to appear on Raw on a regular basis.

5. Teddy Long

Why: It finally stabilizes the Raw GM position. Tag team wrestling can be revived.

Why not: Because tag team wrestling doesn't bring in the ratings.

Other potential GM candidates

Rowdy Roddy Piper, Road Dogg Jesse James, Vickie Guerrero, Michael Cole, Kevin Nash or basically any legend who is willing to be able to commit traveling every Monday.

Regardless of who the Raw GM is, the GM should actually be entertaining. This has been a long-term problem on Raw.

Dolph Ziggler's predicament for WrestleMania

With Punk-Jericho set for the WWE Championship, Dolph Ziggler is in a pickle. Ziggler clearly does not want to repeat last year's debacle with Snooki. Money in the Bank seems to be beneath him.

I can see Ziggler have a nice feud with Randy Orton in an inter-promotional type match. But will Orton be willing to have three consecutive WrestleManias in which he was not in the main event?

Who else can Ziggler feud with? Tell me in the comments section.

WWE needs more faces

WWE is clearly lacking in top faces. Look at the current top faces: John Cena, CM Punk, Randy Orton, Zack Ryder and Sheamus. Rey Mysterio is injured and Zack Ryder is already getting booed.

In comparison, look at the top heels: Chris Jericho, Dolph Ziggler, Daniel Bryan, Wade Barrett, Alberto Del Rio, Miz, Christian, Cody Rhodes and Mark Henry.

That is a serious disparity.

Now who should they turn face to at least balance the disparity? I will categorize each top heel and analyze the likelihood of them turning face.

Candidates who recently turned heel: Chris Jericho, Daniel Bryan, Christian and Mark Henry. Don't count on any of them turning face anytime soon, except perhaps Christian.

Candidates who should NOT turn face: Wade Barrett and Cody Rhodes.

Candidates who can turn face but will be better off as heels: Alberto Del Rio and Dolph Ziggler.

So who should turn face?

Enter Miz.

Miz can turn face right now after his feud with R-Truth. There are two compelling reasons why the Awesome One is better off as a good guy.

1. Miz can't be fully taken seriously as a heel. He just looks unbelievable as a bad guy. His baby face (pun intended) will forever make him the butt of all jokes as a heel.

2. Miz has great mic skills, charisma and a move set designed for the infamous five moves of doom.

Miz can come in and be a top face on Raw. The main event heel scene is just too crowded.

He sells the merchandise and makes the media rounds necessary to facilitate this transition. Sound familiar?

Injuries and unexpected departures will always happen. Edge's retirement was a perfect example. Therefore, WWE needs to spend time building up faces as well as heels.
