Duke Basketball Recruiting: Rasheed Sulaimon Wants Shabazz Muhammad to Join Duke

It's no secret that the nation's top recruit, Shabazz Muhammad, is an extremely coveted player any coach and player would love to join forces with.

Duke recruit Rasheed Sulaimon made it no secret that he and Blue Devils coach Mike Krzyzewski want the spectacular small forward, Muhammad.

After the Skills competition that comprises part of the McDonald's All-American festivities, Sulaimon was sitting in a press conference with Powerade Jam Fest winner Muhammad and three other skills champions.

Sulaimon then said he would love to have Muhammad as a teammate, along with Krzyzewski.

"Shabazz is a great player," Sulaimon told the media. "Being the No. 1 player in the country, that speaks a lot in itself. I would be honored if he came here. We're heavily recruiting him at Duke and I think if he comes and with the players that we already have, I think we could do some great things."

Muhammad, who plays at Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas, still hasn't made a decision and said that he won't make a decision until April 10, the day before National Signing Day, because he is competing in the Jordan Brand Classic at that time.

Other teams on Muhammad's radar include Duke, USC, UCLA, Kentucky, Kansas and UNLV.

"Rasheed is always doing that," Muhammad said. "That's my guy. He could be hired on their assistant staff with the recruiting he does. He's a good guy and a good player. If I do that, he would be a great teammate."

The 6'6", 215-pound Muhammad said his decision will result on how comfortable he is with the head coach and the team's style of play.

Sulaimon, who has always been a Duke fan and plans on studying economics, said Muhammad will make a decision that is best for him, and no matter what, they will "still be cool."
