No Luck IRISH, Orange Win Big Coming Off Hoya Loss

Remember that face, that intensity, that National Championship?

This Orange team reminds me of that special year, a team made up of heart, guts and the ability to comeback this time off a Hoya loss to easily handle the No luck Irish yesterday at the Carrier Dome.

BIG Men to add to a talented team, Onuaku (Ala MR. Hakim pictured above) matched his season high with 19 points, Jackson had 14 points & 10 rebounds. The Orange outscored Notre Dame 54-24 in the paint as the eighth-ranked Orange downed the No. 12 Irish 93-74 Saturday.

The Orange (17-2, 5-1 Big East), bounce backed nicely from their loss at Georgetown and snapped a three-game losing streak against the Notre Dame (12-5, 3-3).

The deep team of the Orange added the knock out punches as Flynn finished with 17 points and nine assists, Harris added 15 points,10 rebounds, Rautins added 10 points, MR. New Life Eric Devendorf had 16.

The Orange played intense defense the whole way, frustrating the Irish Star & limited the Irish to 35.5 percent shooting.

"This one's on me," Harangody said. "I've reached the time in my career where I need to step up & 9-for-28 from the field is unacceptable. I can't lay a goose egg like that, especially on the road."

"We forced them into tough shots," said Rautins. That defense, team effort, total intensity reminds me of the man pictured above who blocked his way into a NCAA Crown. The Ground Hog seems to have seen his shadow early in Upstate New York in 2009 will this hold on through March?
