As is being reported by ESPN's Dan Rafael, Andre Berto has tested positive for steroids. This comes on the heels of last week's debacle in which Lamont Peterson tested positive for synthetic testosterone and forced the cancellation of his rematch with Amir Khan.

As for what this means for the Victor Ortiz rematch, you have to believe that with the precedent set by Khan and Peterson, the rematch will likely be canceled.

The Berto-Ortiz rematch was previously pushed back from February due to an injury Berto sustained, and now Ortiz will likely look for a new opponent.

As for the sport of boxing, this is another black eye. Berto and Peterson were two guys with excellent reputations that now could be tarnished.

Victor Conte, of BALCO fame, has been involved in the Berto camp, though Conte denies any involvement with Berto's positive drug test.
