Dave's College Basketball Picks, Feb. 21: Miami (OH) at Evansville

dave darbySenior Analyst IFebruary 21, 2009

Miami (OH) (15-9, 8-4) at Evansville (15-11, 7-9)

Line: Evansville -1.5

Miami fell to Akron on Wednesday, 53-44, but remains just one game back in the Mid-America Conference East standings. The Red Hawks failed to reach 28 percent shooting (13 of 47) and had twice as many turnovers as assists (18 to nine). Saturday's game will be the second of three road games before heading home to face Kent State on March 1.

Evansville made a charge at Missouri Valley frontrunner Creighton on Wednesday but lost, 89-84, on the road against the Blue Jays. The Aces shot over 50 percent and grabbed 33 boards, but are too unbalanced on offense with just two players scoring in double digits. Jason Holsinger was 5-of-8 from beyond the arc and finished with 30 points. Shy Ely was 10-of-20 from the field and ended up with 26 points to go with seven boards.
