According to Yahoo!, AC Milan will hold talks with Real Madrid over several players, most notably Ricardo Kaka, when the two sides meet at Yankee Stadium on August 8.

AC Milan are looking to reinforce their squad with some of the €65 million they received from their sale of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva to Paris Saint-Germain, which saves the club millions in wages and helps Milan get out of harm's way with the UEFA Financial Fair Play rules.

According to the report, Milan's list of players includes not only Kaka, but midfielders Sami Khedira, Nuri Sahin and Lassana Diarra as well as center back Ricardo Carvalho.

Khedira (25), Sahin (23) and Diarra (26) all fit into the mold of Milan's plan to go young, but Carvalho could be a target as a way of keeping some quality in the back while they continue the search for a young center back with leadership qualities.

It is believed that Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa of Montpellier HSC is the ideal center back of choice for Milan, but according to Football Italia they refuse to budge from their €6 million offer, even though it is expected that an offer of €7.5 million could convince the French champions to part ways. The Frenchman's contract is set to expire so Milan may wait and take the 23-year-old, who has agreed personal terms already with Milan, for free.

Both Khedira and Diarra would fill a need at defensive midfield, where Massimo Ambrosini is the only current option besides newcomer Riccardo Montolivo. Milan want to bring in a young, natural defensive mid.

Sahin could help add depth to the midfield where Urby Emanuelson, Montolivo, Antonio Nocerino, Kevin-Prince Boateng and, when healthy, Sulley Muntari could split time this year. With Milan's annual injury woes it would benefit them to have the 23-year-old in the system.

Kaka could fill in the attacking midfield position where he shined for years at Milan. It is believed that the club want to move Boateng out of that position to center midfield, but Silvio Berlusconi also believes he can play at striker (via Yahoo!) with Alexandre Pato. Kaka would also bring an added boost with the fans, who would surely begin buying season tickets again in order to see their lost hero. For the moment, season ticket sales are down due to the sales of Ibrahimovic and Silva.

Adriano Galliani is in no rush to get anything done which is why the two sides will come to the table at their friendly match next Wednesday. If Milan could somehow swoop for Kaka, Khedira and Carvalho, this mercato could be seen as a positive one for the club. There's still work to be done, but those three players would help Milan significantly.
