The past few days have been a whirlwind of life change for Evelyn Lozada, but this doesn't mean the reality TV star has to alter her career.

Lozada and her husband, NFL wide receiver Chad Johnson, had finished filming a season's worth of their planned upcoming reality show "Ev & Ocho" that was going to be aired on VH1.

Then Chad Johnson was arrested for domestic battery in an alleged incident involving his wife. This led to VH1, as the USA Today reported, canceling their reality show before it began.

Since then, Radar Online tells us, Lozada has filed for divorce.

I think it's safe to say that Lozada's future is now headed in a different direction than she was planning for this time last week, but that future will still hold plenty of reality TV opportunities.

This is certainly an unfortunate set of circumstances, but there is no denying it is raising Lozada's public profile, and in reality TV, notoriety is everything.

I have no idea what happened between Lozada and Johnson, but I do know there is going to be a widespread perception that Lozada is a strong woman who endured a terrible situation and did what she could to prevent that from happening again.

This is only going to serve to earn her countless new fans, and those fans are going to be curious for bigger glimpses into her inner workings and daily life. In other words, they will want to see more of her on reality TV, and there will be plenty of TV execs all too eager to provide that opportunity.

She might now be a big enough reality TV draw for the Kardashians to adopt her.
