Chelsea Blues and Atletico Madrid will face each other in the UEFA Super Cup to be held in Monaco on August 31. Diego Simeone, Atletico Madrid's coach, was interviewed by UEFA (with a h/t to Goal) about the match and the possibilities for the club.

During the interview, Simeone said that he advised the Atletico Madrid players to "enjoy the match and win." He went as far as to say that Chelsea is not better than Atletico Madrid.

Simeone recognized that Chelsea is the current holder of the UEFA Champions League cup. He also recognizes that Cesar Azpilicueta recently signed with Stamford Bridge.

At the same time, Simeone stressed that Atletico Madrid won the UEFA Europa League. While the positive comments from Simeone may be used to inspire his players, a concise review is needed to arrive at a conclusion.

Chelsea FC

Chelsea is currently enjoying the enviable position of first place on the English Premier League (EPL) table. They are in third place for the 2011-2012 UEFA ranking scale.

The Blues started the current EPL season with victories over Reading, Wigan and Newcastle. Fernando Torres and Eden Hazard played a major role in the Blues' victories over the Magpies.

Roberto Di Matteo, Chelsea's new manager, started turning the club around at the end of the last season. One of the first results of his era was Chelsea defeating Bayern Munich to win the 2011-2012 UEFA Champions League cup.

Atletico Madrid

Atletico Madrid won the 2011-2012 UEFA Europa League and is in eighth place on the organization's ranking scale.

Madrid recently signed Cristian Rodriguez, a winger from Porto FC. Atletico Madrid now also includes Emre Belozoglu, a midfielder from Fenerbahce SK, in its ranks.

One of the principal players of Atletico Madrid is Radamel Falcao.

While Atletico Madrid has great players and appears to be psychologically prepared for a victory, Chelsea is a different story.

Chelsea appears to be in one of its best eras at the present time. The possibilities of a victory for the Blues in the UEFA Super Cup is high.

At the same time, it would be a mistake to underestimate Atletico Madrid. The match between the two teams is expected to be an intense one with the following prediction.

Chelsea 2-1 Atletico Madrid
