NBA 2k is the best basketball video game franchise on the market and this year’s edition has several features to cause fans of the video game to get excited.
With incredible graphics and addicting gameplay, the past several editions of NBA 2k games have been complete successes. The new one will be available on October 2.
With the EA’s NBA Live franchise returning this year, 2k Sports is under added pressure to continue putting out a quality product.
Here are the features gamers should be looking forward to.
Settle It On the Court: Team USA vs. the Dream Team
The players and sportscasters drew out this debate over the summer, and now 2k13 allows you to settle it on your television.
The full 1992 USA Olympic team is available for you to play with, as is the team that won the gold medal in London. As executive producer Jay-Z says, via Xav de Matos of Joystiq.com, "In NBA 2K13, we're giving fans the opportunity to play as two of the best teams ever assembled in sporting history, literally putting the debate right into their hands."
There was some worry that Scottie Pippen would not appear in the game, but 2k Sports was able to sort out that problem and the full Dream Team will be in the game.
The debate will now be able to be settled, and this matchup presents hours of entertainment for the game’s owners.
The main motivation for buying the new edition of any sports gaming franchise is usually the updated rosters.
With a flurry of player movement in the offseason, the updated teams will offer those who buy the game a chance to use Steve Nash toss alley-oops to Dwight Howard.
Gamers will still be able to drive hard to the basket with LeBron James, but now they will have the option of kicking out to Ray Allen or Rashard Lewis.
Several player ratings have already been leaked on 2k Sports' Twitter and the new rosters will surely be an endless source of debate and entertainment for basketball fans.
My Career Mode
The new edition of the game will feature an expanded version of the popular My Player mode that has been dubbed My Career mode.
2k Sports released screenshot of the new feature via the 2k13 Facebook, and it shows that it has taken the created player off the court.
My Player mode was extremely entertaining in past editions, roping gamers into the quest of improving a created player across his career.
Now, features such as the player’s wardrobe will be fully customizable, allowing this mode to be even more addicting that it has been in past seasons.
