Indiana State Sycamores Poised for Future Success After Midseason Turnaround

Indiana State basketball is looking to be on the upswing in the college basketball world.

Since the 2001 Missouri Valley championship, ISU has been at the bottom of the conference. But ending the regular season with seven of eight wins, sweeping Illinois State, and upsetting Northern Iowa put them into a great position entering the MVC tournament.

During their short stay in the Valley tournament, ISU took on and defeated Drake University and gave No. 1 seed Northern Iowa all they could handle, losing in the last two minutes of the game.

Senior forward/center Jay Tunnell is the main player that sparked such a turnaround for the Sycamores. With the play of this lone senior, as well as many talented freshmen and sophomores, the Indiana State Sycamores made a huge turnaround.

The future for this team is looking to go up with the only senior leaving being Tunnell. With sophomores like Isiah Martin and freshmen like Carl Richard and Jordan Printy, this team is very young and talented.
