According to the Miami Herald, Alberto Del Rio teamed up for the first time with his brother, Memo Montenegro, last week during a WWE NXT show at the West Palm Beach National Guard Armory in South Florida.
Also in the match was Alberto Del Rio's personal ring announcer, Ricardo Rodriguez.
The match was a six-man tag team between the Mexican superstars—Del Rio, Rodriguez and Montenegro—against Leo Kruger, Kassius Ohno and Corey Graves.
Adding to the importance of this first-time match was the announcement that Del Rio and his wife are expecting a girl, their second child (via Wrestling Inc).
Del Rio's mother, wife to Mexican luchador Dos Caras, was flown in from Mexico to witness her children wrestle together for the first time. Also present at the match were Del Rio's wife, their two-year-old son, Memo's girlfriend and Indy wrestler Pablo Marquez—a friend of the family.
The match was taped for Del Rio's father, Dos Caras, who could not make the trip from Mexico.
Could the the pairing of Del Rio and his brother soon be brought to WWE television? At the moment, Memo has much to learn before playing with the big dogs.
