Hey, Falcons and Saints. Long time, no see.
Atlanta (10-1) has continued to make its run to the postseason an interesting one. After losing to the Saints in Week 11, the Falcons needed most of their allotted 60 minutes to get past fellow division rival Tampa Bay. The Buccaneers, a scrappy, blue-collar team that can run the ball effectively, represented an interesting test for Atlanta, as that is the type of team that the Falcons will typically face (and from which, historically, have been defeated) in the playoffs.
New Orleans (5-6) suffered a setback to their post-BountyGate momentum with a home loss to NFC darling San Francisco in Week 12. Despite hanging with the Niners for the first half, long downfield drives by the visitors and two interceptions from Drew Brees were enough to seal the deal for New Orleans, who must now venture into the building of the NFC South leaders.
