BYU fans have recently made a series of concerted efforts to bring Jabari Parker, one of the most sought-after recruits in the Class of 2013, to Provo.

In anticipation of Parker's upcoming visit this Saturday, fans have created 6,300 t-shirts that read "Chicago to Provo" and feature images of the Chicago skyline and the mountain view of Provo.

Furthermore, BYU fans created a parody video of the recent hit song Gangnam Style.  The lyrics were changed to "Parker Style."

Beyond these amusing gimmicks, BYU is a serious player to land ESPN's second-rated recruit.

Parker's father recently said (via ESPN) "They got one of the winningest programs in the last 4-5 years if you look at their record. They average 25 wins a year. They don't get the recognition of others. Their conference isn't that bad. Remember they had the player of the year in Jimmer Fredette. They have a real good program."

The recent crusade by fans to land Parker, a member of the Church of Latter-Day Saints, can only be beneficial to BYU's chances.

Players like Parker care about winning first and foremost, but elite prospects also like to be a part of a community of fans that are passionate.

Take Cody Zeller's commitment to Indiana two seasons ago.  Indiana was a team in the cellar, but the passion of Hoosier nation made his decision easy.

If BYU fans can continue to make Parker feel welcome on campus during his visit this Saturday, they could definitely help sway his decision to play for the Cougars.
