Football Bros and Beer Beautifully Pepper PBR Bowl X

Playing football is a great way to work off Thanksgiving dinner. Doing it while drinking a bunch of beer is not.

Still, it's far more enjoyable.

There is nothing less that I want to do after eating a ton of turkey than to go outside and play. It is far more enjoyable to sneak under the covers with a good leftover sandwich and watch TV for a day or three.

Unless you guys are playing football with beer.

Deadspin spotted this video of bros playing the 10th annual PBR Bowl, taking place the Saturday after Thanksgiving, and it makes me wish that I had more friends with sweet beards and what seems to be all of Target's supply of sweatpants.

As the report states, it's really just a simple football game but has picked up steam as of late and was even covered by the Des Moines Register, a paper that covers the wide swath of cosmopolitan news going down in Des Moines.

That report explains all that you need to know about PBR Bowl:

For the 10th year in a row, the Babbitt and Hembry boys of Emerson gathered friends Saturday from Kansas City to Chicago for a game of six-on-six, one-hand-touch football.

The game is one-hand touch because the player’s other must clench a can of Pabst Blue Ribbon beer. And if he drops that can, he drinks it.

The video is quite the emotional discovery for this normally sedentary writer. I want to get outside and mix it up with other humans, but not by playing lame football.

No, it now must include cheap beer and penalties that demand you drink said beer in copious amounts.

It turns out that after all these years, I have been doing the time after Thanksgiving all wrong.
