Manti Te'o, Johnny Manziel and Collin Klein are the three official candidates for the 2012 Heisman Trophy.

According to WGAL 8 in Lancaster PA, though, there is a fourth candidate for the nation's top award.

They listed the three Heisman hopefuls on their evening news broadcast, but Manti Te'o had been replaced by a man they call Marti Te'O.

Butchering some random person's name on the news is one thing. But not knowing how to spell one of the most prolific college football players in the entire country is pretty ludicrous.

Putting a capitalized O at the end of "Te'o" is somewhat understandable. It's what Mike Myers called "putting the wrong emphasis on the wrong syllable"—see 1:37 in the clip from A View From The Top.

But I mean changing Manti to Marti gives the guys name an entirely different meaning.

"Manti" is a pretty epic sounding name that instills fear and respect. "Marti" on the other hand means "dedicated to Mars," according to ThinkBabyNames.com.

Either way, a major news team announcing that Marti Te'O is one of the Heisman candidates gets a "C'Mon Man!" from Chris Carter.

If Marti Te'O somehow wins the 2012 Heisman Trophy, at least WGAL News 8 will have called it first.
