Cincinnati Bengals at Houston Texans: NFL Wild Card Weekend Pigskin Preview

The Houston Texans beat the Cincinnati Bengals in the 2011 AFC Wild Card Game. Will the Texans make it a two-fer?

Houston (12-4) seemed to have the No. 1 seed in the AFC playoffs on lockdown. But then the Texans lost three of their last four games to fall to No. 3, costing them that coveted first-round bye. The Texans have endured inconsistent play from their secondary and Pro Bowl quarterback (!) Matt Schaub. Schaub threw two costly interceptions in their Week 17 loss at the hands of division rival Indianapolis.

Cincinnati (10-6) managed a second-place finish in the AFC North. That slot historically has been good enough for a spot in the postseason. Second-year quarterback Andy Dalton fronts a team with talent and balance on both sides of the football. The Bengals, who suffered from a generation of ineptitude through the 1990s and most of the 2000s, have now made the postseason in three of their last four seasons.
