I'm told the Andy Reid to Chiefs deal is done other than some contract language still being figured out.

From  and me: Andy Reid has reached agreement to become next HC of Chiefs, pending review of contract by each side's attorneys.

Update: 11:24 PM EST 1/2/2013 From Reuben Frank of CSN Philly on Twitter:

Just got a text from Andy Reid, said Chiefs interview went well, was very long. Cards interview might be pushed back to Friday now.

Much speculation arose on Black Monday that Andy Reid was in the lead to become the head coach of the Arizona Cardinals next season.

Then reports surfaced on Wednesday that Reid was planning to meet with the Kansas City Chiefs and then the Cardinals.

An interesting report came from Howard Eskin of Philadelphia's 94WIP Radio on Twitter today:

Andy Reid meeting w KC Chiefs 2day in PHL lasted close to 9 hours and never made it to Arizona.I Was there and looked like meeting went well

This is quite an interesting development, considering a lot of people thought reuniting with Kevin Kolb in Arizona was a huge possibility for the former Philadelphia Eagles' head coach.

This report doesn't mean that Reid will be coaching in Kansas City next season. Although, the fact that they met for nine hours, in my mind, makes it more likely than not.

Is Andy Reid a good fit for the Chiefs?

Can he help turn a 2-14 team around after going 4-12 with the Eagles in 2012?

It's really hard to predict anything right now. Reid led the Eagles to five NFC championship games and one Super Bowl. He lost that Super Bowl to the New England Patriots back in 2005.

Reid certainly has what it takes to be a successful coach in the NFL as evidence by his 14-year tenure in Philadelphia. However, I like the thought of him reuniting with Kolb in Arizona better than him having to completely rebuild the Kansas City Chiefs.

Arizona has some pieces that could lead to success. The Cardinals started 4-0 before losing 11 of their last 12. Andy Reid drafted Kevin Kolb and knows him better than anyone.

I just don't see Reid and the Chiefs meshing too well. I could be wrong. I have been before.

Eskin's report on Twitter makes me assume he will likely go to Kansas City, but again, that is only my opinion. Only time will tell.

Stay tuned and happy new year.
