The Golden State Warriors are still without Andrew Bogut, but they're also a legitimate playoff contender enjoying their best early record in decades.

So do they even need him?

The details surrounding Bogut's bum ankle have turned secretive and sordid this season, though we've recently been fed more hope-flavored Kool-Aid.

Plenty of people are disappointed, but few people are surprised it's turned out this way. Frankly, it would be a surprise if we see Andrew Bogut play this season.

So how does that affect the Warriors' chances in the NBA Playoffs?
