The Undertaker has maintained his undefeated streak over the last few years against an array of WWE legends. Could this be the year that "The Streak" is used to elevate a new superstar to the top of the card?
It seems as if every year there are a number of rumors as to which young WWE superstar will get a shot at The Undertaker and his streak at WrestleMania. However, it just doesn't seem to happen. The last true up-and-coming superstar to face The Undertaker at WrestleMania was Randy Orton in 2005…and this was AFTER his first championship run!
Over the years, people have yearned for a fresh matchup for The Undertaker at WrestleMania. I believe that this could be the year.
The WrestleMania card is going to be stacked with big-name talent from top to bottom with the insertion of The Rock and Brock Lesnar into their own respective matches. It wouldn't hurt to push a fresh face to fight The Undertaker.
The Shield has made strides during their brief WWE run as major threats to every top superstar. They have attacked John Cena, Randy Orton, Sheamus, Ryback, Team Hell No, Ric Flair and many other superstars in a matter of just three months.
What if they made The Undertaker their next target upon his return? Could this be a situation where WWE uses "The Streak" to help lift a new main-event talent?
All three members of The Shield have huge upsides in their own differing ways, and all three would obviously benefit from that spot on the card.
"JCD" from the #PWPRadio crew had the idea to put Roman Reigns in a match with The Undertaker at WrestleMania 29. While thinking about what he said, it seems like it would be a long shot—but is it really?
Roman Reigns is the muscle behind The Shield. He has been positioned to look like a beast in every situation they have put him in so far. When The Shield issues their assault on a wrestler, it is Roman Reigns who finishes the job.
Roman Reigns should face The Undertaker at WrestleMania 29.
Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins both have very bright futures. There is no doubt that if positioned correctly, they will be at the top of the WWE card for a long time to come.
If The Shield targets The Undertaker, it would be a three-on-one battle throughout the buildup. But what if Triple H and Shawn Michaels helped him? I'm one of those guys that really doesn't want to see Triple H wrestle ever again, so I would be perfectly content if he weren't on the WrestleMania card in a match.
This scenario would ensure that WWE is able to continue the solid buildup with The Shield and make the story with Undertaker, Triple H and Shawn Michaels come full circle from their moment on the WrestleMania stage last year.
The feud can help establish The Shield and further prove that Roman Reigns is a true man, amongst men on the WWE roster by standing toe-to-toe with The Undertaker.
While this scenario is all pure speculation, I think it is something that a number of you would like to see happen.
Please leave your comments below and we can talk about this! Keep an open mind and give me your scenarios on what YOU would want to see happen with The Undertaker.
