You can be sure of one thing: next's week 20th anniversary edition of Raw is going to be must-see television.
Not only is Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson back, but several cameos from stars of years gone by are also being planned (via WrestlingInc) for the show, which will take place in Houston.
After a stagnant few months of programming, it looks like WrestleMania season is well and truly kicking off. And no doubt next week's edition of the show will be the biggest one since Raw 1000 back in July.
And it seems that there is more.
In a (subscribers-only) post over at F4Wonline.com, Dave Meltzer writes that two-time Hall of Famer Ric Flair, last seen clashing with CM Punk at last month's Slammy Awards, is due to make his return on the show and follow up his angle with the WWE champion:
There will be a confrontation of some sorts between Ric Flair and C.M. Punk on Raw next week in Houston as things are currently planned.
This is interesting news for a few reasons.
First of all, it could be signalling Flair's full-time return to the company. Considering what an asset the charismatic Flair can be on-screen (his lively contributions were, by far, the highlight of the otherwise tiresome Slammy Awards), this can only be seen as good news.
Whether he's serving as a manager to some rising talent or in a GM-like role, he can help inject Raw with an energy it's been sorely lacking these past few months.
That he's apparently working with Punk again is a positive too. As we saw back in December, the two men, both outstanding talkers, have notable chemistry with one another.
Although where exactly all this leaves the widely discussed TNA/WWE contract tampering lawsuit, per F4Wonline.com, remains to be seen. Perhaps we will find out more in the next few days.
