The loss of Moreno could turn out to be a huge blow for the Broncos as Denver held a narrow 28-21 lead when Moreno was forced out of the game with an apparent knee injury. Moreno had recorded 10 carries for 32 yards before the injury.

With Moreno out rookie running back Ronnie Hillman and Jacob Hester will be called upon to take the majority of the carries.

Hillman compiled 330 yards on 85 carries with one touchdown in the regular season. He was the team’s third round selection and the 65th overall selection in the 2012 NFL Draft out of San Diego State University.

Hester only registered 17 carries for 81 yards with two touchdowns on the season and has primarily served as a fullback throughout the season.

The team’s depth at the position will be tested as Moreno took over the starting position for an injured Willis McGahee in Week 11. The four year veteran recorded 525 yards on 138 carries with four touchdowns and added 21 receptions for 167 yards in eight games.

With a potential matchup against the New England Patriots looming, health has to be a concern for the Broncos moving forward.

Updates will be provided on the condition of Moreno’s injury as they become available.
