WWE Royal Rumble & WrestleMania: How to Make the Most of the Rock & CM Punk

With each passing Monday, WWE programming gets closer and closer to the in-ring return of The Rock at the Royal Rumble.  His match against CM Punk has been teased for months and the two superstars finally began their war of words on last week's Raw broadcast.  All of the information available to fans indicates that The Rock will work the next three PPVs for WWE: Royal Rumble, Elimination Chamber and WrestleMania.  I believe that there is a way to not only enhance his storyline with CM Punk, but also help build up some of the up-and-coming stars of WWE.

Here is how to do it:

Royal Rumble: CM Punk vs. Rock

If CM Punk wins this match and retains his championship, the move will be unexpected and thought provoking.  Giving CM Punk a win against The Rock is the icing on the cake of his unprecedented title run during this "modern era" of wrestling.  I believe that The Shield (as they've done numerous times before) should interfere in this match and cost The Rock his title.  Their explanation can be that it's an injustice that anyone who isn't a full-time WWE Superstar would receive a title match at one of the biggest events of the year.

At Elimination, while CM Punk is paired against five other superstars, a storyline can be crafted between The Rock and The Shield in which Ryback is selected as the man who will team with The Rock to try and defeat The Shield. Having Ryback and The Rock team together will add legitimacy to Ryback's push and continue to elevate him to main event status.  Similarly, this will be a wonderful opportunity for The Shield to make a name for themselves in a high-profile match.

In the Elimination Chamber match, the final two superstars remaining should be CM Punk and John Cena.  Punk should devise a crafty/illegal way of winning the match and screwing John Cena out of a title victory.  In the other main event of the night, the pairing of Ryback and The Rock will defeat The Shield.

As the Road to WrestleMania heats up, both The Rock and John Cena will lay claim to the fact they deserve to be the No. 1 contender for CM Punk's title.  In a major decision, Vince McMahon will appear on Raw to announce the main event of WrestleMania 29...a Triple Threat Match for the WWE Championship between CM Punk, John Cena and The Rock.

At WrestleMania, CM Punk's approximate 500-day WWE Championship run will finally come to an end at the hands of either The Rock or John Cena.  In three months, The Rock would have had two matches with CM Punk, closure on his two-year feud with John Cena and an opportunity to help build up Ryback and The Shield.
