Arsenal has been scouting West Ham midfielder Mohamed Diame (h/t David Kent, Daily Mail), and Arsene Wenger and company may look to make a move for the Senegal international.

It would be a smart decision to acquire Diame, as the 25-year-old is an absolute steal with his £3.5 million release clause. He also brings incredible value to the pitch. If Arsenal wishes to claw their way towards the top of the Premier League table, Diame may be the spark they are looking for.

Diame possesses a unique skill set. He is a defensive-minded midfielder, but he's more than capable in attack. He has ankle-breaking footwork, the upper-body strength to fend off defenders and he is incredible at operating in traffic.

He is a master of positioning, using his body to shield defenders from the ball. He also has great size (6'1", 176 pounds), which allows him to bully smaller players.

Diame can find the net as well, which you can see in the video above. He's got two goals on the season, including one in West Ham's 3-1 upset over Chelsea in December.

Diame did miss time with a hamstring injury late in 2012, but he appears fully recovered. He is playing some of the best football of his career, and at 25, he has at least a few more quality years ahead of him.

He would be a great addition to Arsenal, who are currently just sixth in the Premier League standings. They have won just one of their last four matches, and they are clearly in need of a boost.

Diame, with his speed, size and skill, could certainly provide that.
