Huge news coming from the Royal Rumble front, as longtime WWE fan favorite Chris Jericho has returned.

Jericho was the second entrant into the Rumble, so who knows how long "The Ayatollah of Rock 'n' Rolla" will last. Ultimately, this is a bit surprising, as Jericho's appearance was not rumored or leaked in advance.

Both the star and the WWE did an amazing job at keeping this one quiet. Overall, I am curious to find out if Jericho's return will be a one-off, or if he is back for a limited engagement similar to 2012. Either way, this is a huge get for this event and will keep fans on edge for the rest of the night.

Keep in mind that even though Jericho will probably be the biggest name to return, I am certain that the company still has some more tricks up its sleeve.

Let's face it, the WWE does its best to surprise fans for this event, so it is highly unlikely that Jericho will be the only surprise of the evening. Overall, I doubt that Jericho will be sticking around for a long stint, especially considering that he just came off of a successful tour with his band, Fozzy, and he is hosting SyFy's Robot Combat League.

Not to mention, Fozzy's 2013 tour schedule is pretty jam-packed for the foreseeable future, leaving little time to devote to the WWE. In fact, it appears that this was an off night for the band, allowing Jericho a chance to give fans one last hurrah until he is able to come back on a more permanent basis.

In the end, it was pretty cool of him to give back, even if it's for one night only.
