The Rock is your new WWE Champion.

The People’s Champion became the WWE Champion for the eighth time, defeating CM Punk at the Royal Rumble PPV. He got the three-count after hitting the People’s Elbow.

What will The Rock do after winning at the Royal Rumble?

As WrestleMania 29 approaches, The Rock should focus on who his opponent will be. A rumored WrestleMania rematch with John Cena could happen for the title. The WWE want this year’s WrestleMania to be huge this year, according to FW4 Online via The WWE seemingly put this plan in motion. The Rock became champion, while John Cena won the Royal Rumble. It seems inevitable the two Superstars will battle each other again.

For CM Punk, he doesn’t want The Rock to move on.

The former WWE Champion has to have a rematch clause in place. After 434 days as champion, Punk should demand another shot. He has too much pride to let someone else fight the WWE Champion again.

Plus, controversy arose as the lights went out during their match. The Shield allegedly put Rock through the table. Punk pinned Rock, but Vince McMahon restarted the match.

Expect Rock/Punk II to happen before Rock/Cena II. Whether it happens on Raw or the Elimination Chamber PPV is up to the WWE.

The WWE should book the Rock/Punk rematch before Cena. It makes sense storyline-wise, not to mention Punk’s astounding reign as champion. Rock and the WWE owe that to Punk.

The Rock could also be booked in the Elimination Chamber match. Maybe Rock/Punk II happens on Raw instead of the next PPV. If that’s the case, Rock can interact with new wrestlers he’s never faced before.

Could you picture him in the same ring with Daniel Bryan and Sheamus? Maybe at the Chamber, Rock reignites his feuds with Kane, Big Show, and Randy Orton.

Rock and Kane always fought, especially in 2000 for the WWE title at that year’s Unforgiven PPV. Rock and Big Show had a good feud leading up to WrestleMania 2000, which ironically started at 2000’s Royal Rumble. Rock and Orton feuded briefly for WrestleMania 20, when the Rock N’ Sock Connection lost to Evolution.

The possibilities are endless for the new WWE Champion between the Elimination Chamber and WrestleMania. However, it seems The Rock will have to go to war before he faces John Cena again.
