It's been less than a handful of days since the Royal Rumble, and the tremors following CM Punk's loss to The Rock are still being felt throughout the WWE Universe. recently posted a story about a 77-year-old man who owns a liquor store and was shot in the face during a robbery last week.

Apparently, losing his right eye during the robbery wasn't the worst part of his week. No, that would be CM Punk losing the WWE Championship after 434 days to The Rock.

While most people already knew ahead of Royal Rumble that The Rock would end Punk's historic run as champion, seeing it wasn't exactly believing it.

The People's Elbow to finish off the longest title belt run since 1984 was seen by many fans as a weak ending, not only to the match, but to both wrestlers as well.

No dramatic title defense for Punk and a weak performance by The Rock aided their argument.

On Raw the next night, Punk started the show aggressively and let the crowd know that he had been screwed, labeling the Royal Rumble match as "The Phoenix Screwjob," an ode to the "Montreal Screwjob" by the WWE against Bret Hart back in 1997.

Punk later came out, again cutting another classic promo, this time with the new WWE Champion, The Rock. Punk threw down the gauntlet, letting The Rock know exactly where he would be Friday, Saturday, Sunday, next Monday for Raw, and again in three weeks at Elimination Chamber if The Rock wanted a rematch for his belt.

It was classic CM Punk, and it worked.

Now The Rock is set to square off against CM Punk at Elimination Chamber in February, and already, speculation has begun that the WrestleMania main event could feature a triple threat match with CM Punk, The Rock and John Cena.

Cena even hinted on Raw that he was going to square off against one or the other at WrestleMania.

So here is a very real possibility of what could happen over the course of the next couple of months.

Despite rumors from last year that Brock Lesnar would main-event WM29 against The Rock, it doesn't currently appear that that is going to happen, at least not straight up. Why? Because John Cena is going after the WWE Title after winning the Royal Rumble.

Instead, here is a possible storyline heading into April's WrestleMania event.

CM Punk will defeat The Rock at Elimination Chamber in Feburary, either by a straight up win or by a distraction, courtesy of The Shield or even Brock Lesnar. The Rock will then put into effect his rematch clause, paving the way for a triple threat match and the main event that pleases all fans: CM Punk vs. The Rock vs. John Cena.

If Lesnar were to distract The Rock allowing Punk to win, could Vince McMahon, as a way to punish Paul Heyman, throw Brock Lesnar into the title match allowing for a four-man battle royal with two Heyman guys competing against each other at WM29?

The thought is intriguing.

Whatever the WWE does decide to do, one thing looks clear, CM Punk will be part of the main event and not a mid-card draw like so many WWE fans feared. And that's a good thing.
