Warriors' Harrison Barnes Reportedly Drawing Trade Interest Around NBA

Harrison Barnes has played very well for the Golden State Warriors in his first season, and that has led to plenty of trade interest from around the league.

According to Marcus Thompson via Sulia.com, multiple teams have been contacting general manager Bob Myers in an attempt to acquire the rookie:

Harrison Barnes' name comes up quite a bit. But the Warriors aren't interesting in moving Barnes. One source it would take a "major offer" to get them to even think about moving Barnes. It's obvious to Warriors fans that Barnes is/should be untouchable. But that hasn't stop teams from trying to pry him away for the Warriors.

Both sides obviously have to agree to a trade, and it seems like the Warriors are not interested in moving the youngster.

This makes a lot of sense based on the play of both the team and the player. Golden State is currently 30-21 and in sixth place in the Western Conference. The squad is on pace to make its first playoff appearance since 2007.

Individually, Barnes has also been very impressive. He has started all but one game for the Warriors and averages a solid 9.4 points and 4.2 rebounds per game. His scoring average is sixth among rookies this season, and he has also helped out by making 37 percent of his shots from three-point range.

In addition, he has shown throughout the season that he is already one of the most athletic players in the NBA. He has totaled a number of highlight-reel dunks that have excited fans and teammates during the course of games.

The team has gotten a lot of production from the No. 7 overall pick of the 2012 NBA draft, and it is unlikely he will be moved at the trade deadline.

Then again, there are a lot of organizations that could be desperate and make a huge offer for the wing. Golden State already has plenty of scorers and could use help in other areas.

This is certainly something to keep an eye on as the trade deadline approaches.
