Jacky Marcellus, one of the three 2013 recruits who didn't make signing day is now in the fold. Marcellus is a consensus 3-star recruit from Immokalee, Fla.
Allan Taylor reported in West Virginia MetroNews that Marcellus was announced by WVU to be the 26th member of the 2013 signing class.
At 5'8", 175 pounds, Marcellus could play either running back or slot receiver at WVU. He was rated the No. 18 all purpose back by Rivals.com. Marcellus also had offers from Cincinnati, Minnesota, Rutgers and Vanderbilt.
Marcellus had a stellar junior season and was named MVP of the National Underclassmen 5-Star Showcase in Orlando.
Before being sidelined with a knee injury his senior season, Marcellus scored four touchdowns and gained 625 yards rushing and receiving.
The delay in a letter of intent from Marcellus was his own decision and not the school. The reason was his injury. He had no academic problems.
The addition of Marcellus leaves running back DeShawn Coleman and cornerback Marquion Lane as the last two remaining recruits left to turn a letter of intent into becoming an official commitment of the 2013 class.
Both have issues to be resolved before being guaranteed a scholarship.
