The Alabama Crimson Tide landed 4-star defensive tackle Josh Frazier to help solidify the interior of their defensive line.

Frazier announced the news via Twitter:

This massive recruit has the potential to be an instant factor. He certainly has the size. Frazier checks in at 6'3" and 323 pounds, and he actually has room on his frame to add some more good weight. However, it looks like adding too much bad weight may be a concern.

In its composite rankings, 247Sports has Frazier listed as a 4-star recruit and the ninth-best at his position for the 2014 class. It also has this Arkansas product rated as the second-best recruit in his state.

The lofty rankings and ensuing recruiting attention are no surprise. Frazier is an athletic specimen. Rivals lists his 40 time as 5.1 seconds and his shuttle at 4.9. This is amazing foot speed for a player this size.

That quickness is going to allow Frazier to cut off angles to running backs when he penetrates into the backfield. It will also make him a nice interior presence in the pass rush.

Frazier isn't all about quickness, though. As you may have guessed from his size, he has good strength. At the Under Armor Recruiting Combine, he put up 23 reps on the bench at 185 pounds.

This natural talent leaves Frazier as one of the most physically imposing recruits in this class.

Frazier has a tendency to play with his pads too high. This is not unusual for a tall player who has been able to bully his lesser competition around, but it will lead to him getting blocked out of plays at the college level. He also needs to improve the use of his hands to help shed the stronger linemen he will face on the college level.

However, with some good coaching and a willingness to learn, Frazier will make big strides in these areas.

Frazier has the potential to be a star.
