UFC 160 is quickly developing, as several key matchups have been announced in recent days.

On Wednesday night, the UFC announced via Twitter that undefeated Khabib Nurmagomedov will return at the May 25 event in a matchup against Abel Trujillo.

Nurmagomedov might just be one of the brightest lightweight prospects currently fighting in the UFC. After recent wins over longtime Zuffa mainstays Thiago Tavares and Gleison Tibau, it appeared that the sky is the limit for this Russian fighter.

However, based on the recent booking, it is clear that they are not interested in rushing Nurmagomedov up the ladder.

Trujillo is currently riding a five-fight winning streak; however, he is only one fight into his UFC career. The victory came against Marcus LeVesseur, who was released from the promotion after the contest.

Although Trujillo looked great in his promotional debut, he represents a major step down in competition for Nurmagomedov, who is currently ranked as the No. 10 lightweight in the world, according to the official UFC rankings. Contrastly, Trujillo isn't found in the top 50 and is currently ranked No. 64 by FightMatrix.

UFC 160 is headlined by a heavyweight title fight between Cain Velasquez and Antonio "Bigfoot" Silva. The current card at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas is as follows:

  • UFC Heavyweight Championship: Cain Velasquez vs. Bigfoot Silva
  • Junior dos Santos vs. Alistair Overeem
  • Gray Maynard vs. T.J. Grant
  • Glover Teixeira vs. Ryan Bader
  • Donald Cerrone vs. K.J. Noons
  • Pat Barry vs. Shawn Jordan
  • Amir Sadollah vs. Stephen Thompson
