After a week of buildup, the WWE did its best to deliver a Vince McMahon-Paul Heyman fight.

This storyline was obviously being used as a stepping stone for the rumored Triple H vs. Brock Lesnar match at WrestleMania 29.

Well, it's officially no longer a rumor as "The Cerebral Assassin" and "The Next Big Thing" locked horns on Monday night's Raw.

Even though, this was strictly a knock-down drag-out brawl, it managed to give fans some hope that this match may have some potential. In case you missed it, Lesnar wound up getting busted open by Triple H during the fight.

Keep in mind, while watching this unfold I was wondering if this spot was real or if the blood oozing from Lesnar's head was fake. Now, news is coming Mike Johnson at PWIsider.com, that Lesnar actually did get injured during the melee.

The article states:

Brock Lesnar was legitimately busted open during the opening segment of Raw during his brawl with Triple H. Lesnar received twelve staples to close the wound and is now walking around telling everyone he is completely fine. He is a beast.

Overall, this feud is just in the beginning stages. However, if this is the type of intensity that both men plan on bringing to their bout, I am certain their feud will be a highlight for "The Granddaddy of Them All". Let's face it, the company desperately needs to give its fans a reason to buy the event and after Monday's Raw, I am almost certain they did.

In the end, we still have several weeks of storylines ahead of us. So hopefully the WWE will pull out all the stops to ensure that each week leading up to the event is must-see TV.
