The Rockiest Player-Manager Relationships in Baseball Today

Zachary D. RymerMLB Lead WriterFebruary 27, 2013

It’s a lot easier for teams in Major League Baseball to survive a 162-game season if everyone is getting along.

That doesn’t just involve players getting along with other players. It also involves players getting along with their manager, and vice versa. That’s been known to be easier said than done.

When you look around baseball today, you don’t see any player-manager relationships as venomous as the infamous one between Billy Martin and Reggie Jackson back in the day. There has, however, already been some player-manager drama in spring training this year, and some of the drama that went down in 2012 could end up bleeding into the new season.

Myself and B/R Pop Culture Lead Writer Gabe Zaldivar got together to discuss some rocky player-manager relationships that fans should keep an eye on heading into 2013. As usual, our ramblings were caught on video.
