WWE: WrestleMania 29, The Return of 'The Animal' Batista

One of the biggest WWE superstars in the 21st century was Batista. He broke out in the WWE as a member of the faction Evolution, alongside Randy Orton, Triple H and Ric Flair.

Batista was the typical muscle, whereas Orton was seen as the prodigy and expected to be the next big thing. Batista was sort of pushed off and probably not expected to turn into what he was able to turn into.

When you look at all of his accomplishments, it is hard to believe that Batista only spent roughly eight years in the WWE. He compiled four World Heavyweight Championships, two WWE Championships, four Tag Team Championships and won the Royal Rumble in 2005.

Batista left the WWE in 2010 because he did not like the direction the company was going in and would not be returning any time soon. At the time, he was on one of the best runs of his career as a heel.

Recently however, Batista was seen backstage at a recent NXT taping in Florida. He was there to film an interview for Triple H's DVD. But he was also seen talking to Triple H.

We have seen lately that Triple H has had a huge role behind the scenes, including convincing Bruno Sammartino to finally join the WWE Hall of Fame. Sammartino didn't want to go into the Hall of Fame because he also didn't like what the business had turned into.

Triple H might also be able to convince Batista that changes are being made and he could be a significant factor in some those changes. Will Batista's former mentor be able to pull some more strings and get The Animal back in the company that made him a star?

Since leaving the WWE, Batista has tested his luck in the MMA world and on the big screen. While his MMA career hasn't gone great and has no real future, his movie career has started to heat up.

After some minor roles in movies like The Scorpion King 3 and The Man with the Iron Fists, Batista landed a significant role in Marvel Studios' new movie Guardians of the Galaxy.

So Batista might not be able to return as a full-time superstar just yet, but he could still play a big role as a part-time superstar, like Brock Lesnar, The Rock and Chris Jericho have done.

Picture this scenario for WrestleMania 29. After John Cena pins The Rock, the two shake hands in the center of the ring. Then Batista's music hits and he comes out to the ring and shakes both of their hands.

Batista then turns to the crowd, with the three of them still in the ring and gives the crowd a smile and a double thumbs up. He then turns his smile and his thumbs down, turns around and double clotheslines Cena and the Rock.

I don't know if I would hold my breath for a Batista return at WrestleMania 29. But the changes that Triple H and the WWE have made, might be enough to eventually convince Batista to come back.

Hopefully, Triple H can work some more magic because the intrigue of seeing Batista in the ring with Lesnar, the Rock, Ryback and CM Punk is making me want him back even more.
