WWE's current tour of Europe appeared to be going smoothly until it emerged that WWE Diva Milena "Rosa Mendes" Roucka had been sent home from the tour reportedly due to behavioral issues.
The company released a cryptic statement noting the valet had "left the tour for personal reasons." Rosa herself later took to Twitter to repeat this and thank everyone for their support.
So, what is the current deal with Roucka and WWE? Can we expect to see her back any time soon?
In this week's (subscribers-only) Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer gave an update on the status of the star:
The reports were that she had been partying too much on the tour. One person described her as a mess. Officially, the WWE reported that she left the international tour for personal reasons. While not said officially by the company, the talent and some other officials were under the impression she would probably not be back on television for a while, but she has not been suspended.
Of course, it's worth noting that Epico & Primo—the team Roucka manages—haven't exactly been setting the world on fire lately, and the trio weren't getting a huge amount of television time anyway.
As for what her future holds, assuming Roucka can recover from her personal problems? Who knows. Although after almost seven years in the company—she signed a deal after participating in the 2006 Diva Search—it remains to be seen what else she can do.
As anyone who has watched her rather feeble attempts at wrestling over the past few years can tell you, she's certainly never going to be an in-ring worker competing for the Divas Championship. And while she is a perfectly adequate manager, her character is still rather one-dimensional and there are limits to what WWE can do with her.
If she were going to break out and become a big female star—like A.J. Lee—she would have surely done so by now.
