The Oregon Ducks are doing it again.
According to the Oregon Football Facebook page, Nike and the school have teamed up once again. This time it is to release special spring game uniforms for the event that will take place Saturday.
Other schools simply can't do it like the Ducks can.
While most see spring games as a chance to get familiar with the team and iron out any wrinkles, the Ducks see it as a chance to show off. In a college football world where every team in the country tries to copy Oregon by switching up its wardrobe, this school is the only one that gets it correct and makes the rest all jealous.
But these just aren't your typical Oregon uniforms that come off just as flashy as the play on the field. There is a special meaning behind them, as the words "Support Our Troops," is listed on the back of the jerseys.
What a way to bring in the Mark Helfrich era. Oregon will kick off its spring game at 11 a.m. PT on the Pac-12 Network in Autzen Stadium. With the team that is returning on both sides of the ball, it should result in one of the more exciting exhibitions in the country.
Helfrich told Chris Huston of CBS Sports how he feels about the new uniforms:
Words cannot express our gratitude to the men and women who serve our country and this is why we will continue to salute our armed services as part of our Spring Game. Obviously we are extremely fortunate that Nike has chosen to play a major role with their innovative uniforms designed for this special day.
Some make it a tradition to keep the same uniform for decades, but Oregon is unique to the point it must switch things up every chance it gets. Spring game or not, the Ducks saw it as just another opportunity to come out in style.
