In what is expected to be a tough fight for Floyd Mayweather, the 36-year-old champion is looking to once again prove the critics wrong by dismantling Robert Guerrero and stave off Father Time for at least one more fight.
There is little doubt that Guerrero will come out aggressive in this fight, but to the chagrin of "Money" and his team, "The Ghost" will be even more aggressive than anticipated. That will result in Guerrero winning the first two rounds, including a stunning knockdown of the undefeated champion.
Mayweather has the power and speed to come back with a great round of his own, but there is no doubt that if Guerrero stays aggressive, his underestimated power can bother Money and create openings.
After the first four rounds of weathering The Ghost's storm, Mayweather will take control of the fight using his superior defensive abilities and raw speed.
As much as Guerrero will try to cut off the ring and punish Money, the counterpunching of the champion will have the advantage in Mayweather’s corner.
Both men are incredibly tough, making the likelihood of a knockout very low. If this fight goes to the judges’ scorecards, though, there is almost no way that Mayweather takes the loss unless Guerrero utterly dominated throughout.
That won’t happen.
If Guerrero wants a victory, it will have to come via stoppage and his team understands. With that knowledge, The Ghost must come out extremely aggressive and this will result in a fast-paced matchup with plenty of heavy shots from both men.
This bout has the earmarks of an instant classic.
Final Word: Mayweather wins via unanimous decision.
