At Extreme Rules, Dolph Ziggler needs to retain the World Heavyweight title without any controversy or interference from Big E Langston and AJ Lee.

Dolph Ziggler was one of the most misused WWE Superstars until he cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase on the April 8 edition of Raw, one night after WrestleMania 29. Prior to this, Ziggler had been losing more matches than winning them.

Ziggler’s record has been up and down since winning the World Heavyweight title. Although he has won some matches, one of his recent losses came as a result of one of his Extreme Rules opponents, Jack Swagger.

Having a loss against Swagger might not have made sense at the time, but if you think about it, it was the right move. In addition to the loss to Swagger, Ziggler defeated Albert Del Rio for the title when he was down and hurt. Therefore, Ziggler has not defeated either of his Extreme Rules opponents decisively.

Ziggler must win the match decisively at Extreme Rules on May 19 in order to prove himself as a strong champion. After all of the losses while holding the Money in the Bank briefcase, it is time for WWE to stop burying Ziggler.

One report discussed the possibility of Ziggler losing so much because it would create challengers for the title after his win. However, as the report went on to explain, too many losses creates too many challengers.

When Ziggler does beat Swagger and Del Rio at Extreme Rules, it is important for him to pin the Real American. Swagger is very lucky to still be employed by WWE after his DUI arrest. Now it is time for WWE to remove him from the World Heavyweight title picture.

Since the match is now a Ladder match, the finish should see Del Rio and Ziggler fighting for the title. This would allow Swagger to leave the feud and have Ziggler and Del Rio continue the rivalry one-on-one.

Neither Del Rio and Swagger have looked strong throughout their feud leading up to WrestleMania 29. Despite receiving buildup time on both Raw and SmackDown in February and March, Del Rio came off as stale, just like when he was a heel.

Swagger’s gimmick was saved by manager Zeb Colter, but was still not perceived as a legitimate threat to the title. If Ziggler were to lose to Del Rio or Swagger, or even win in a controversial matter, it would only make him look weak.

Ziggler’s World Heavyweight title reign has already beaten his previous reign of less than one day. Now it is time for him to beat Del Rio and Swagger in impressive fashion. He has Langston and AJ Lee on his side, but his opponents have managers of their own.

It will be interesting to see if all of these managers make it to the end of the match. Don’t be surprised to see them all banned from ringside either right away or during the match.

Without anyone at ringside to cause distractions or interference, Ziggler should defeat both Swagger and Del Rio without any interference.
