Over at his official Twitter account, former WWE champion Dave Batista has ruled out a return to the wrestling, at least for now.

After the star, who left wrestling in May 2010 to pursue outside opportunities, hinted in a recent post that some big news was coming soon, speculation abounded that he was referring to a WWE or even MMA return. Seemingly in response, Batista insisted he was now focused on movies and acting, and he wasn't coming back to WWE or MMA any time soon.

Although, all you Batista fans shouldn't feel too bad: The star at least seems open to the prospect of returning to America's No. 1 wrestling promotion in the future.

Batista is correct to note that he is currently busy with acting and it's his main focus now

After all, as industry publication The Hollywood Reporter noted last month, he's just snagged one of the leading roles in Marvel's upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy movie.

The film, which has the potential to cross over with the hugely successful Avengers franchise, could be the thing that rockets the star to A-list status in Hollywood.

With this in mind, of course he's going to stay out of WWE. As The Rock's recent injuries, and subsequent surgery, illustrate, trying to both act and wrestle at the same time might not be the best idea.

However, assuming Batista does indeed want to return to the company that made him a star at some point, he probably shouldn't wait too long. After all, the grandfather-of-two is almost 45 years old. And I don't think anyone wants to see the sight a 50-something "Animal" slowly moving around the ring, a total shell of his former self.
