Before you read any further, I must disclose that at this point, this tidbit is only a rumor.
That being said, I am certain that if this comes to fruition, it will be huge for the NXT star in question. As of this article, there is nothing out there stating this is set in stone or even happening to begin with.
So with that out of the way, let’s get down to business.
On Thursday, former Indy star and recent WWE signee Sami Zayn (formerly known as El Generico) responded to a tweet from Seth Rollins.

@WWERollins I believe in the Shield.2013-5-2 05:28:09
Now, keep in mind Zayn and Rollins come from a similar background and both are Ring of Honor alumni, so it’s very possible Zayn was just giving some support to an old friend. However, there is always the possibility we could be witnessing the beginning of one of the quickest call-ups in NXT's history.
Personally, I wouldn't be entirely torn up with this move—especially if it’s done right.
Now, in order to make things interesting, the company shouldn't just add Zayn into the fold. In fact, I believe it would make more sense for him to have to go through an initiation period to prove he believes in The Shield's mission.
On the flip side, there is also something to be said for keeping the group intact as a trio and not monkeying with the current formula. Yet, for better or worse, the WWE likes to keep things interesting. So we very well could see one of the most interesting factions in years add a new member before the end of the summer.
In the end, this is purely still a rumor, so we will have to wait and see if he gets called up or if it’s just wishful thinking on Zayn's part.
