All eyes turn toward the horses today for the 139th Kentucky Derby with Verrazano, Revolutionary and Orb as some of the favorites. Being the favorite hasn't been a good thing as the last favorite to win was Big Brown in 2008.

This year's race features a crowded field of 19 horses, after Black Oynx was listed as a scratch. Best of all, the race appears to be wide-open with no horse as the clear-cut favorite.

Here is a look at the latest odds for the favorites (all odds via bovada.com). Complete odds are listed below.

Verrazano (4-1)

Verrazano entered the week as the favorite, but has since been passed by Orb. The horse is unbeaten, having won all four of his previous races. Verrazano doesn't have the pedigree to ensure that he'll be a hit in the distance at Churchill Downs, but the combination of strength and power should be enough for him to be competitive.

His sire, More Than Ready placed fourth at the 2000 Kentucky Derby. His dam, Enchanted Rock should add speed to the mix, but whether it's enough for Verrazano to win the Derby remains unseen. While Orb is the favorite, Verrazano is just behind him.

Revolutionary (10-1)

Revolutionary is one of the horses best-suited for the track at Churchill Downs. He has the ideal blend of speed and stamina that are required to win the race. His dam, Runup the Colors provided good stamina which will help greatly with the distance. His sire, War Pass adds elite speed needed to leave the rest of the pack.

While Revolutionary isn't concerned the favorite, he has a great chance to having success. Another benefit for Revolutionary is that he will have jockey Calvin Borel doing the honors. Borel is a three-time Derby winner, having won the even three times in four years from 2007-10.

Orb (7-2)

Orb has used strong practice runs throughout the week to become the overall favorite heading into the race. He's not undefeated like Verrazano, but he's won his last four races, including the Florida Derby. Orb is another horse that is well-suited for the length of the track at Churchill Downs.

With his sire Malibu Moon's speed and dam Lady Liberty's stamina, he has the blend to be successful. Favorites haven't had much success in the recent years, but Orb is a potential exception.
