For all of Christian's peeps who have been waiting for him to return from injury, there is some good news with a slight caveat.

WWE has been minus Christian since July of last year thanks to a shoulder injury that has apparently healed. He's no longer waiting on clearance from the doctors, but rather on WWE creative.

Wrestling Observer Newsletter (via WrestlingInc.com) reports that, "Christian has been cleared to return to action but is waiting on WWE creative to come up with a storyline that will bring him back. Sin Cara returns next week and Christian should be back shortly after."

As frustrating as it has been to not have Christian in the mix, it's refreshing to see WWE creative take their time with his return. This should allow the company to properly milk drama from having him back rather than just having him appear randomly on WWE Raw. It's hard to keep a return secret in the age of the Internet, but having it be an intriguing return is more important.

Christian's charisma and athleticism will be a welcome re-addition to WWE programming.

Injuries have interrupted his momentum since around Survivor Series 2011. His ankle (h/t CagesideSeats.com) and then his shoulder have had his tenure starting and stopping. It's great news to hear that he should be on his way back, but it's news WWE fans have been hearing for some time.

It seems Christian's return has been inevitable and just around the corner for months now.

If the story surrounding Christian's return or the rivalry he hops into is something especially compelling, the wait will have been worth it. If the opposite is true and Christian's return is nothing special in terms of narrative or excitement, fans will be confused as to why it has taken so long to get such a talented guy back on TV.

Antonio Cesaro is in need of a quality feud, as is Wade Barrett, Big E. Langston and others. Christian could be a great rival for any of those men. The timeline that Wrestling Observer is reporting will leave Christian out of the Extreme Rules picture, but could have him thrust into an angle heading into WWE's newest addition to the pay-per-view schedule, Payback.

With CM Punk taking time off and with Dolph Ziggler possibly missing action due to a recent concussion (h/t WrestlingInc.com) this is the perfect time for Captain Charisma to get back in the ring. As long as WWE isn't planning for him to take part in the recent wave of WWE Raw dance-offs, fans are going to be happy to see him hitting the Killswitch once again.
