WWE: Chris Jericho Needs a Good Title Run This Year

"I am the first ever, undisputed-uh, WWE champion in history!"

Chris Jericho will go down in history as the first man to hold the unified world championship after defeating both The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin in 2001.

Such a feat makes the Ayatollah of Rock-and-Rollah a future Hall of Famer without question. However, there are years left in this living legend's career.

What better way to further push him forward and, at the same time, make his recent return the most successful ever by having him capture a little gold?

It has been way to long. He held the World Heavyweight championship back in 2010 for a few months only to lose it to Jack Swagger via MITB cash-in and has never had a taste of it since.

The time has finally come. With all the shake-ups and fresh blood in the WWE recently, Chris Jericho seems like the right guy in the right place.

He is already a nine-time Intercontinental champion, a record that stands unchallenged. The only one to come close was...Chris Jericho! He beat his own record in 2009 by pinning Rey Mysterio.

A feud with Wade Barrett, the current champion, could be just what the fans ordered and at the same time, it could show what the proud Englishman is truly made of.

Ten times sounds mighty nice and it is only a matter of time when thinking about it.

The seeds have been planted. He is feuding (or was feuding) with Fandango, teaming with The Miz sporadically and getting in Wade Barrett's face.

Time is tick-tocking its way into what could be a fantastic four-way program over what was once (and will become again after this) one of the most prestigious prizes in all of professional wrestling: the Intercontinental title.

Chris Jericho is an ever-changing, ever-evolving character who can quickly raise the crowd high only to have them lash out at him. The best part is, he can win them back with the snap of his finger. He is a main-event caliber persona who deserves all the accolades he receives.

The best thing that could happen to him and to this company subsequently would be to reward him with one more top championship run. This means the WWE championship, not the World Heavyweight title.

He hasn't held that since 2001.

John Cena has a lot of history with Y2J, not just CM Punk. A program with all three somehow would be even better.

The year is halfway through. Tons of months left in there to make this happen.

Even if it were just a short-term thing, so few do as well as Chris Jericho. He could help elevate someone unexpected all the while keeping the title's lineage in the light.

2013 is looking good so far. It can be a whole lot better.

Chris Jericho never returns for nothing. Though he doesn't have anything left to prove really, he lives by the moniker of being "the best in the world at what he does."

Holding the WWE title high above his head for the entire world to see would further cement that awesome legacy of his.

SummerSlam until Royal Rumble...sounds like a feasible time period for a nice reign. Only time will tell, but one must never, eeeeeever count this man out.

Take him for granted and it's boom! Codebreaker followed by the Walls.

The Walls of Jericho!
