This summer is shaping up to be a busy one for Arsenal.

Despite finishing fourth in the English Premier League and earning a UEFA Champions League qualifying bid, the Gunners have some work to do this offseason before they can be considered a European contender.

Next season will mark the 10-year anniversary of Arsenal's last English Premier League title. On top of that, it will have been eight years since the Gunners reached their only European Cup final, losing to Barcelona in 2006.

Clearly, Arsene Wenger is running out of time to build a championship squad as Arsenal's supporters' patience continues to wear thin.

Here we'll analyze the latest buzz surrounding Arsenal this June.

Could Arsenal Lose Laurent Koscielny This Summer?

Elite Gunners defender Laurent Koscielny is reportedly drawing interest from other clubs this summer, according to the Daily Mail's Paul Collins.

ESPN FC on Twitter confirmed the report:

Two of the notable clubs reportedly looking to add the French veteran are Spanish Primera Division champions Barcelona and reigning European Cup champions Bayern Munich.

The 27-year-old, who is valued at roughly £15 million, still has four years remaining on his current contract with Arsenal, but that could prove meaningless if the Gunners don't bring in enough firepower to inspire Koscielny this summer.

According to Koscielny's agent, Stephane Courbois via Collins, the coveted defender wants to win championships and knows that he would have an opportunity to do just that in Barcelona or Munich.

With the talented center back entering the prime of his career, it's no surprise that Europe's top clubs are expressing interest in acquiring him. But he's a key piece to what Arsene Wenger and company are trying to accomplish at Arsenal. He is a piece that the club can ill afford to lose this summer.

He only made 25 league appearances for Arsenal this past season, but was incredibly consistent at the back, playing a key role for the Gunners as they went on to clinch the fourth spot in the Premier League.

Gunners Rumored to Have Sights Set on French Winger Dimitri Payet

According to the Daily Mail's Simon Jones, "Arsenal are showing interest in Lille and France winger Dimitri Payet," a 26-year-old talent who has emerged as an electric attacking player over the past season with Lille in Ligue 1.

Payet was a huge weapon for Lille this past year, scoring 12 goals and assisting on 13 others while helping the club earn a sixth place finish in the league table.

Quickness is what sets Payet apart from other attacking midfielders. But in addition to possessing a solid burst, he has a terrific technical ability and always looks in control with the ball at his feet.

Only Manchester United and Chelsea scored more goals in Premier League play than Arsenal last season. But the Gunners will need to find a way to score on the road. Arsenal scored just 25 goals last season in 19 away matches in league play compared to 47 scored at Emirates.

Although there is no guarantee that Payet will deliver, he's certainly worth a look from Wenger this summer. If Wenger does make a move to land him this offseason, Arsenal fans will be hoping he turns out much better than Gervinho, who came over from Lille in 2011 only to struggle immensely in England.
