The Clearwater Threshers lost to the Fort Myers Miracle by a score of 2-1 at Bright House Networks Field.  The offense struggled to put anything together and made a hard-luck loser out of Joe Savery who allowed two earned runs in seven innings. Savery has posted a 1.50 ERA in his first two starts.

The Lakewood BlueClaws lost the opener of their series with the Hagerstown Suns, 5-2. Michael Durant continued to hit well in the season’s first week, going 2-for-4 with a run batted in. Durant is hitting .333 through the first five games of the season.

Pitching matchups for the remaining two games of the Mets series have RHP Kyle Kendrick dueling with RHP Mike Pelfrey on Wednesday, while RHP Adam Eaton goes against RHP John Maine in Thursday’s series finale.

The Phils return home on Friday night to play the Chicago Cubs for a three-game weekend series as they start a nine-game home stand.
