Manchester United winger Nani is heading for showdown talks with boss David Moyes amid strong links to Ligue 1, according to The Sun.

Nani marked his first appearance of preseason by scoring a goal in either half as a United XI beat Crewe 2-0 on Monday.

Afterwards he revealed a lack of certainty over his status at the Premier League champions, admitting to Sky Sports News that every player is currently under the scrutiny of Moyes.

Of course, everyone has to prove himself because it is a different manager with different ideas

He knows the players because he has played against them, he has seen the TV and has seen them all these years in the Premier League.

I think, after a couple of weeks, a couple of months, with the players, he will understand every personality.

Nani is being monitored by mega-rich French clubs Monaco and Paris Saint-Germain, both of whom are said to have been offered the Portugal international for £8.5 million.

Vadim Vasilyev, Monaco’s sporting director, was recently quoted as saying in French newspaper L’Equipe via The Irish Independent: “He has been proposed to us. He is a very good player, but there have been no talks so far.”

Nani’s forthcoming meeting with Moyes is designed to clarify whether the 26-year-old has a future at Old Trafford, where he has 12 months remaining on his contract.

An insider quoted by The Sun’s Geoff Sweet claimed: “He is undecided. Nani wants a meeting with Moyes and will then make a final choice about what to do.”

Nani has spent the last six years at United since his £22 million switch from Sporting, scoring 40 goals in 212 appearances.
