A woman in Louisiana set a new state record when she caught an 185-pound stingray during a fishing competition. Babe McElroy was out on the boat with her husband during the Desk and Derrick Club’s Diva Rodeo when she reeled in the behemoth that is bigger than she is.

Once the catch is approved, it will shatter the previous state record of a 141.31-pound stingray caught by Hunter Andras in 2004.

McElroy explained to the Louisiana Sportsman (via GrindTV) that she has had her eye on catching a giant stingray for a while: “That fish has been a target for almost 30 years. It was so much fun. I get all excited. I get verklempt just talking about it. But, it was just a thrill of a lifetime.”

According to the International Game Fish Association, the world record for largest stingray caught is a 240-pound specimen caught by Carissa Egger in Galveston Bay, Texas, in 1998.
