Carolina Panthers running back Jonathan Stewart was placed on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list after sustaining a foot injury, and he missed the first seven games of the season.
Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reported that the decision was made after the 26-year-old visited a foot specialist:
After going to see a foot specialist today, #Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart (ankle) will start the season on PUP list, I'm told. Out 6 games.— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) August 27, 2013
However, he is active for Week 9 versus the Falcons.
