The 'Bare Knuckle Babes' Make Bare-Handed Fishing Look Easy

Tristan ThornburghSocial Media StaffAugust 27, 2013

For those of you not familiar (and there are probably many of you), "noodling" is the sport of catching catfish from a river with no pole, hook, or bait—just your bare hands. The sport is very dangerous and definitely not for the weak.

The "Bare Knuckle Babes" are a group of women from Texas who have their own pinup calendar and are taking the noodling world by storm. One of them, Lucy Millsap, even won a noodling competition when she pulled out a 72-pound flathead catfish.

Watch their Good Morning America segment below:

Now, before you run out to your nearest river diving head-first for catfish, remember that it's illegal in to do this in many states (but it's obviously legal in Texas).

Hat tip to USA Today's FTW for bringing this to our attention.
