St. Louis Cardinals All-Star first baseman Allen Craig left September 4th's game against the Cincinnati Reds with a left foot sprain, an injury that kept him out of the National League Division Series.

ESPN insider Buster Olney originally tweeted the unfortunate development for the Cardinals:

Oh, boy -- Allen Craig on the ground after rolling his left ankle. Coming out of the game.

Craig was left off the NLCS roster vs. Los Angeles. He is on the roster for the World Series in a DH role. However, Craig started at first base for the Cardinals in Game 5.
