Blaine Gabbert Injury: Updates on Jaguars QB's Hand, Likely Return Date

Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Blaine Gabbert struggled mightily in his team's 2013 season-opening 28-2 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday and was held out for Weeks 2 and 3 with a lacerated hand.

The Jags' official Twitter account broke the news on Monday, Sept. 9:

Blaine Gabbert will not play this week due to laceration on his hand. #Jaguars

A return date has yet to be established for Gabbert after this latest setback, which required 15 stitches, per the Florida Times-Union's Ryan O'Halloran:

Mark Long of the Associated Press was first to note that the team feared Gabbert could suffer an infection:
